Background
Dane, a doctor and inventor of the Mantis Wall Tower Exerciser, is an avid inventor with another invention of his already manufactured and on the market. Dane has always been an avid workout fanatic and while liking the setup of the existing tower products on the market felt that most of them were too big and awkward to work, use and transport.
Feeling there was a need in the market for a more lightweight version that was easier to transport and store Dane set about create a tower exerciser that met these needs. After creating and testing his own proof of concept prototypes Dane was pleased with the results and enlisted the help of DCP to develop a commercial version of his product that he could use to attract strategic partners in hopes of commercializing his product.
Production Design
During the design process there many adjustments and refinements made to the design to improve functionality, increase user-friendliness and also make it easier to assemble and break down for storage & transport.
Manufacturing
Once the first iteration commercial version of Dane’s product was approved we assisted Dane with a small overseas production run to provide Dane with the commercial quality samples he could use to introduce his fitness product to fitness companies in hopes of developing a strategic partnership to launch his product on a large scale. While Dane developed strong interest from a major U.S. fitness and entered negotiations, a deal was unfortunately not consummated.
Continued Product Improvements
After significant testing of his product, Dane has developed some improvements to his product and is re-engaging DCP for the development of his improved version of his product. Dane is planning on presenting his new product version product to Shark Tank soon and due to the compressed product development time frames, we are planning on developing a virtual prototype video commercial he can use for his initial presentation as this is a much quicker and cheaper way to create a good quality presentation for his product.
Digital Media
DCP’s Digital Media division has also assisted Dane with the development of a product video to demonstrate and explain his current version of his product as well as the development of his logo he is using as part of his marketing.
Testimonial
“Working with the DCP has been a very positive experience and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for high-quality product development assistance.”
