Background

 

Several years ago while cutting his grass, Jimmy came up with an idea to integrate a weed trimmer into a lawn mower so that people can trim their lawn while they are also cutting it and saving time while performing this often time consuming and tedious work.

 

Virtual Prototype Video & Website Development

When Jimmy contacted Dirt Cheap Prototypes all that he had was an idea on paper.   Because the development of a physical prototype for his product would be very expensive due to the high complexity of it, Jimmy had DCP’s digital media team create a much less expensive virtual prototype video to demonstrate and explain his invention in a very clear and compelling way.

 

Once the virtual prototype video was completed DCP's Digital Media team created a product website which featured his video so that he could more easily present his invention to anyone, anywhere with a few clicks of the mouse.  Jimmy started contacting major companies in my product industry and sending his video presentation to everyone he could think of.

 

Attracting a Product Development Partner

 

A representative from one of the largest lawn mower companies in the U.S. reviewed my video and contacted him with interest.  Next, they connected him with their engineers who partnered with him to develop a working prototype of his product without any expense to him.  Due to the highly complex nature of Jimmy's product, it took almost 2 years for them to develop his working prototype which he recently received.  Jimmy is very pleased with his physical prototype and now plans on going to some tradeshows with the goal of finalizing a partnership for the final development and launch of his product.
